Katelyn and sleeping

Katelyn did well last night - 9:45 - 4:45 and 5:30 - 9:50 - so 12 hours with one night waking.

I read somewhere that there is a normal sleep regression for children that falls somewhere between 2 1/2 - 4 months, because they begin to get aware of their surroundings and need to fall asleep the same way they woke up. Well, I definitely nurse Katelyn to sleep and haven't really focused on setting up healthy sleep routines - so I decided to start yesterday with the feed/book/song routine we used on Geoffrey. (I have in the past, read books and sang, just not consistently. And I ALWAYS nursed last.) I didn't hold very high hopes, what with bottles only, too, but she actually did very well! I was prepared to follow the routine, and then if needed feed her a little bit more, but for the last four times  I have put her down to sleep, I left her awake and she went to sleep on her own - actually quite quickly! So, I am happy - it is a promising start!

She's still sleeping swaddled and in her nap nanny. As long as she doesn't roll over I am fine with the swaddle, but do feel like I need to move her to the crib in a while - we can't bring the nap nanny to Hawaii!
