So Geoff goes to "preschool" once a week with daddy now. It is a class through Huntington Beach adult school called "Parenting the Toddler." His teacher is Ms. Lisa.
He really enjoys the play time and snack time, and he loves making art projects. His least favorite part is circle time, although he is showing progress here. At first he wouldn't sit in the circle - he would sit over to the side. Then he started sitting behing Grant. Now he will sit in the circle, but he doesn't participate in the songs. He particularly likes sitting right next to Ms. Lisa and observing her intently - but when she tries to engage him he looks away.
He's had two field trips this year. His first was to a pumpkin patch. He dressed as a firefighter. THe class had a parade, did some "trick or treating," and wend on a costume parade. We bought two strips of tickets thinking that he would use them up quickly. As it turned out, he would not go on any rides by himself. Grant went on the train once and the merry-go-round once with Geoff, and he had a lot of fun in the petting zoo, but we ended up spending most of the tickets in the bounce house. This worked out well because it was Geoff's first time in a bounce house - and there were very few other kids here, so we got to see if Geoff was ready for it - and he was. He loved it! He was also quite happy with the two little pumpkins he took home.
The second field trip was to Pretend City. We've wanted to visit here, but it is a bit expensive so we were glad to have this opportunity. Pretend City was fun. Geoff enjoyed this - he played in the farm area and liked the trucks in the building area. He spent a LOT of time "picking up trash" on the beach, and he very much enjoyed the water table. He spent the last part spending time in the grocery store picking up groceries and bringing them to the cash register and ringing them up.
I was happy because I got to go on both fieldtrips - a fortunate result of finding myself out of work on pregnancy disability 2 months early.
As far as tumbling goes, we think we are not going to register next session. Geoffrey doesn't seem to enjoy it much anymore, so we'll look for something else in the winter session.
