Clappng

Geoffrey can clap now! Cutie!

Development - 9 1/2 months

Geoffrey is doing better with standing momentarily on his own - and he is quite the cruiser! He's also beginning to attempt clapping his hands. He mostly likes to watch and laugh when you clap, but last night he started waving his hands together - and even made contact once or twice - so he's getting ready to join in on the applause! He is more interested in solids now - especially finger foods! He doesn't eat consistent full meals yet, but he is definitely transitioning! Favorite food? Nothing makes him smile like a ziplock bag of cheerios!

4th tooth

Geoffrey's 4th tooth officially came out today! This is the top tooth on his right! All day yesterday you could see it, ready to bust out - but you couldn't feel it until today! What a tough little guy!

Geoffrey's First Thanksgiving

Geoffrey's first Thanksgiving was a wonderful time! Grandma Patty and Grandpa Bobby came out for a week and a half to spend time with us.

The Sunday before Thanksgiving, we went to DIsneyland. WE had to park all the way in the Buzz Lightyear parking lot! Luckily, the park wasn't too packed and we had a great time! The parks were completely decked out for the Holidays. Tammy, Dave, and Lexi met us there, and we enjoyed a smattering of attractions in both parks and dinner at Cafe Orleans. We were even able to do Haunted Mansion Holiday, its a small world holiday, and see the fireworks - Geoffrey loved seeing it snow! We capped off the evening riding the submarines after a short 15 minute wait! What an amazing day!

Thanksgiving itself was a successful event! The day itself was awesome! Tammy, Dave, Michael, Grandma Patty, Grandpa Bobby, Nonna, Grandpa Gary, Blake, Grant, Geoffrey, Danny, and I made a grand total of 12. Some people watched football, others played the wii, and dinner itself was delicious!

The only downfall was that people either came to Thanksgiving sick or left sick. Grant and Bobby G had been sick all week. I was a wreck by Friday and Geoff got hit the worst on Saturday. It lingered all the following week, too. Sigh. Geoffrey was a trroper, dealing with cutting his tooth and being sick. His tooth came out all at once too - a big white line - not a tiny bump like his other two teeth.

In any case, Thanksgiving gave us lots to be thankful for this year!!!

Geoffrey's 8 1/2 month Dr. Visit

Geoffrey's Dr.'s appointment took place on November 19th. Geoffrey is now 19 pounds (40th percentile) and 19 3/4 inches long (90th percentile). Geoffrey has the ok now to eat meat - in fact - he can eat everything now except for egg whites, shellfish, peanut butter, and honey. Geoffrey got more vaccinations, including the H1N1. He did a good job!

Dates to Remember

September 7th - Geoffrey First Crawled
November - Geoffrey continues cruising; Geoffrey stands on his own for brief moment before squatting to sitting; Geoffrey walks pushing his high chair or his fire struck
November 28th - Geoffrey cuts his third tooth - top left

Veteren's Day at Irvine Park

This year, Veteren's Day fell on a Wednesday, so I had the day off. Grant, Geoffrey, and I headed up to Irvine Regional Park for the afternoon.

First, we had a picnic lunch in the park. Grant and I enjoyed our Subway and Pirates Booty while Geoff played on the grass. He loved picking up the crunchy leaves, and feeling the different texture of the grass.

Next, we went to the Orange County zoo. The weather was nice, kind of cool, so some of the animals were pretty active. Geoff liked watching the bobcat pace back and forth in the cave, and the bear came right out in the middle of his enclosure. Grant thought it was funny that the zoo had coyotes and raccoons. Geoff only really noticed the more active animals, of course, but seemed to really like walking around.

After the zoo, we went over to the duck pond. Geoff liked watching the ducks swim on the lake. Grant and I saw a kid across the way roll right into the duck pond! Gross! Grant thought it was hilarious - he had just been wondering how often people fall in!

We walked over to the train station and then around the lake and back to our car. We drove to another section of the park where Geoffrey got to play on the swings - his favorite!

Once it started to get dark we left the park and went to The Counter for dinner. All in all, it was a beautiful day!

Temporarily Standing

Geoff can balance for a few seconds while standing now. Of course, this is a very gradual thing - (is he actually balancing himself or just put there by momentum?)

What's good, though, is that he will usually sort of squat slowly down into a sitting position instead of just fall over. He's good at keeping his balance!

Sneezing

Geoffrey is SO CUTE when he sneezes. Have I mentioned this before? He's done this since he was only a couple of moths old. Whenever he sneezes, he looks up at you with a big smile on his face, like sneezing is the funniest surprise in the world.

Diaper CHanges

Diaper changes have become such... fun.

Geoffrey does NOT like to stay on his back - and he rolls over the second you put him down.

Today I decided to change him on the floor. The second I got the diaper off he rolled over and started crawling into the bathoom naked except for his socks. I though, "This is so cute! I should video tape this!" SO he crawls into the bathroom and stands up holding on to the cupboard - and proceeds to pee - right there - on the bathroom floor.

Heh  Heh

Well, at least he knows where to go when he has to pee!
