I am so happy that summer is here! 2 months to spend with my family! I couldn't be happier!
Geoffrey: He is such a chatterbox! He loves to talk and talk and talk! He is doing the summer program with Miss Lisa again. Yesterday we went to Bucanner Bay for his first field trip and had so much fun! He is such the little fish! With his vest on he just cruises anywhere he wants to go! I think he will have a lot of fun in Hawaii swimming this summer!
He is still obsessed with trash trucks. Last night he sorted laundry. He put the "recycles" (light colored clothes) in the "recycle can" (white laundry basket) and the "trash" (dark color clothes) in the "trash can" (pink laundry basket.) Awesome.
When he doesn't want to do something, he says "I am tired. I think I am going to go back to sleep for a little bit." Stinker. Of course, he isn't going back to sleep! Just trying to get out of doing something he doesn't want to.
He likes building "houses" out of blocks, playing with his toy story dump, building train tracks... but a lot of his play centers around conveyer belts and dumping things.
Katelyn: Katelyn is doing so much better. She is really "maturing" out of the newborn stage. She is, in general, very happy. She tolerates others holding her for longer periods of time. She spends a lot of time occupying herself in her play may "gyms" and her exersaucer. She has started rolling over but this is very rare still. She has also gotten up on her hands and knees a few times to rock... She loves to talk! One of her trademarks, though, is that when she is laying on her back she does these crunches - lifting her head and shoulders off of the ground to try to look at what is going on. She REALLY wants to sit up and see the world!
Our goal for the next few weeks is to work on sleep training. I want her eating more during the day and less at night (she should certainly be able to do an 8 hour stretch now if she is eating enough during the day). I also would like her to be able to self soothe so that she sleeps better at night.
